:: What’s your favourite item in your closet?
BEATRICE Belaj (Bea) |
:: I would say my favourite item would be my nude Pigalle Christian Louboutin. They are so classy and go with almost everything in my closet.
:: What are your top 5 staples for accessories?
:: Hermes belt. A crystal necklace (for plain t-shirts) or a formal dress... J.Crew has the prettiest ones. Hats!! I live in them. They change an outfit and make it look more fashionable Blazer. a Leather jacket
:: What advice do you have for defining personal style?
:: Look for a brand you like. Stick to those brands because they know what their demographic is. They have the creative and business aspect. So if you wear their clothes you will find your style and also win over loyal fans of that brand.
:: What’s your biggest accomplishment?
:: Attending and covering press at Fashion Week, I would say, is one of the greatest accomplishments to date. Reason being, I always wanted to be a journalist, ever since I was twelve years old, but decided to pursue a degree in Visual Communications from FIDM and become a fashion stylist instead. My blog, www.beatricebalaj.com allows me to cover press for events and write creatively about them.
:: What was your biggest setback?
:: Growing an authentic following. If you get featured by the wrong brand you can attract a different market or demographic. This is good because the following grows, but a setback because they are not loyal fans. We want organic and authentic engagement.
:: What do people most commonly ask you through Instagram?
:: They ask what products do I use for my skin. What apps I use to edit my photos. And where my heritage is from.
:: Favorite part of being a fashion blogger?
Putting together looks and sharing them with my followers. It's a fun job but it can also have some stressful moments. But at the end of the day I am happy with what I do and as long as someone is inspired, I am happy.
:: What sets you apart from other fashion bloggers?
:: I began blogging in 2011 and rebranded by Blog in 2015. Since I began I was always the 'curvier' blogger. Most bloggers that began in 2011 were thin looking girls. I stand out because girls of any size can wear what I do. I consider it realistic.
