Introducing ANQUANETTE: Professional Model + Talent by I AM COLLAGE Management…//

Where were you born and raised?

 Denver, CO.

What do you do for a living?

I am a full time student at the University of Colorado - Denver. I am currently double majoring in Sociology and Communication with a minor in Business Fundamentals. I also work two on campus jobs. One being at the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office and two being the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a Student Assistant for both positions.

Why do you do what you do for a living?

I knew very early on that I wanted to pursue higher education, but starting college I was not sure what I wanted to major in. After my first semester in college, I wanted to pursue Sociology and Communication as I believe these two go hand in hand. There is so much overlap between these two studies. This is applicable to my life because I am interested in why people do the things that they do in society, as well as effective ways people communicate and interact with one another.

What makes you happy?

I enjoy being around my family and friends. Being around people with good vibes is so important to my livelihood.

What makes you sad?

Seeing my mother hurt or affected by negativity and mishaps in her life.

What is your mission statement or motto in life?

Live, walk, and talk like you have a purpose in life. I believe that everything you do should have meaning behind it.

What are some of your dreams and aspirations?

I will be graduating from CU - Denver in Spring 2017 with 2 BA’s and a minor so I am hoping to find a job that compliments my studies fairly well. I am not sure which career path I will take, but I know I want something pretty stable. I also hope to become a professional dancer for a sports team sooner than later. Because I am a Zumba Instructor, I want to expand my clientele through exercise by promoting a fun and healthy lifestyle through Zumba.

What are your goals for professional modeling?

I would like to be in as many fashion shows as I can. I love the runway and performing is such as huge part of that. Because I am also a dancer. When people watch you do something you love and they enjoy watching you, there is no better feeling.

"When people watch you do something you love and they enjoy watching you, there is no better feeling."

Who inspires you and why?

My uncle Rozelle is a huge inspiration to me because he is and the most down to earth, successful, and loving person I know. He is not only a family man, but also a well-respected business man in Information Technology. Whatever he wants in life, he takes the necessary steps he needs in order to make things happen.

What inspires you and why?

Seeing people do what they love. There are so many talented people in this world and it just amazes me to see the outcomes of what people create. Performers such as dancers share how the body is able to move and singers share how one’s voice can touch a person’s soul. Those that express their creativity through their artistic abilities inspire me because with their talent they are making the world a better place.

What is your definition of empathy?

Being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes.

You never know what someone may be going through so it is important not to make assumptions or judge someone without knowing their situation first. I have always been the type of person to stay as neutral as possible in terms of how other people’s actions and how they may feel.

FINISH THE SENTENCE |

Deep down, I believe the world needs more...

...role models. In other words, positive people to look up to. For instance, I am a black woman and the black women that are portrayed in the media are seen as ghetto, loud, and uneducated. I am none of those things and I believe that young black girls should disregard the stigmas black women have.

"Young black women have to realize that they are just as capable to succeed in life as the next person. "

Deep down, I believe people are...

...to be no one other than themselves. It’s hard living in a world where you have to live up to everyone else’s expectations, but not always your own. It’s essential for people  to love the skin they're in no matter what race, size, or background they come from.

Deep down, I believe love...

...can be the cure to most evil in this world. Living in a world where there is hatred and ignorance is poison to society as a whole. I also believe that God is love and without him I know my life would not be the same.

Deep down, I hope...

...to be successful and with that I want to be able to provide for my family. Yes, this is a cliché answer, but I believe in giving back. What my family has done for me throughout my 22 years of living explains why I am the person I am today and for that I am forever grateful.
